Change of Address Overview:

The 10-day Notice of Change of Address requirement applies to both Non-Immigrant Visa Holders (F-1, H-1B, etc) and Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders). The Change of Address requirement is a condition of an individual’s stay in the United States. Individuals who do not comply with the change of address requirement will be considered “Out of Status”, which may lead to arrest, detention, fines and/or removal from the United States. It is also a misdemeanor crime to willfully fail to provide the USCIS with a written notice of address change within 10 days after remaining in the United States for 30 days or more.
